• Elluminate, Inc. announced today that its role as the leading vendor for live, online communication, collaboration, and education for the academic market has expanded to further meet the needs of today’s mobile learners.
• The Elluminate Learning Suite™ now includes Elluminate Live!® V9 and Elluminate Publish!™ V2, adding functionality that enables educators to reach and engage more learners, promote a culture of collaboration across the enterprise, facilitate formal and informal learning, and ensure accessibility and flexibility for all users.
• While a virtual environment for real-time teaching and learning is key, today’s 21st Century students are demanding more convenience and flexibility with on-demand access to learning and collaboration wherever they are, even when not connected to the Internet. The new products extend the reach of and expand access to current academic infrastructure, such as integrating video podcasts into a learning management system or enabling the use of existing audio conferencing within a real-time, online session.

• Elluminate Live! V9 enhancements include:
• Simultaneous multipoint video displayed in up to six live video windows with synchronized instructor-controlled viewing for a rich, interactive, and more personal experience
• Instant in-session invitations sent via email or instant messaging to get the right people in the right place at the right time for ad-hoc collaboration, even those on a mobile phone
• Integrated vendor-neutral teleconferencing that can be used on its own or in conjunction with Elluminate’s no-fee, crystal-clear VoIP. All audio is included in the interactive session recording, ensuring that all participants’ contributions to the learning experience are captured.
• In addition, Elluminate will offer affordable reservation-less teleconferencing from Premiere Global Services for purchase to provide further convenience and flexibility to its customers.
• Elluminate Publish! V2 now includes multimedia movie production that enables users to convert Elluminate Live! session recordings to rich video podcasts, which capture shared applications, whiteboard content, chat transcripts, closed captioning, and all audio, including telephony. Users can view these interactive recordings on popular portable devices without being connected to Elluminate. For example, a student can view a missed lecture on an iPod or iPhone while on the subway.
• Elluminate Publish! V2 supports a wide variety of industry-standard file formats, including AVI, FLV, MP3, standard MP4, high-definition MP4 (H.264), OGG VORBIS, WAV, and WMV. Academic institutions can embed these recorded learning objects in their mission-critical systems for on-demand access as learning shifts to a more flexible and convenient self-service, information-seeking approach. This frees users to use their favorite movie-editing software to produce high-quality, reusable learning objects. In addition, accessibility experts can add closed captioning to the movie by reusing the captioning created during the live session or by adding the captions to the recording.

Availability Information:

• General availability of the enhancements is phased, beginning in October and continuing through December.
• Elluminate Live! V9 multipoint video and in-session invitations are currently available for hosted (ASP) customers with Elluminate Session Administration Services (SAS). The features will be available for customers with Elluminate Learning Manager (ELM) installed on premise or hosted by Elluminate in December.
• The above functionality is also currently available for all Elluminate vSpaces™ customers, which includes Elluminate vClass™, Elluminate vOffice™, and Elluminate vRoom™.
• Integrated teleconferencing for hosted Elluminate Live! V9 and Elluminate vSpaces customers will be available in December.
• Elluminate Publish! V2 will be available for all Elluminate customers in December.
